Acerola that is commonly known as Acerola Cherry or Barbados Cherry is a small, cherry like fruit obtained from shrub like tree. This fruit is called superfruit because of its highly nutrition value within its small size.

Acerola cherry is not classified as real cherry. This fruit is native to Central America and Caribbean region. It is nutritious as well as delicious. But the most amazing thing is its Vitamin C content. Per 100g of Acerola cherry contain about 1677.6 mg of Vitamin C to 4500 mg in unripe fruits. Study suggests that, Vitamin C content in this fruit is the multiplication of 50-100 in terms of orange or lemon. This natural ascorbic acid or Vitamin C is more beneficial for human rather than other synthetic ascorbic acid. Moreover, it contain the same Vitamin A content as carrot.
